On Friday, January 22nd, I was also asked to commission another butterfly painting similar to this. It's going to have a dominate prussian blue but have a hint of red seeping through the background. Since these two colors are totally opposite on the color wheel, plus the client wants this to be a noticably subtle and textural, I know I'll have to put in a lot of hours on this piece. I'm still working on sketches, and as soon as I have a few I just may post them into my next blog.
(I thought this was worth mentioning...)
While in Bentonville, I stopped at my gal pals house and visited for awhile. Of all the 'friends' I have, I can truly say that Esti is a dear friend to me. She also has an original painting of mine and a poster I sent her last month. People always ask me where my inspiration comes from--'is it a sunset? another painting? do they come from your dreams?' And I always tell them it comes from human connections. Sometimes just being in the presence of an interesting person will inspire a whole set of related paintings. Likewise, sometimes it will totally kill all motivation to press brush to canvas. So my advise to all is: Mind the company you keep :)
Until next time, peace and blessing yall.
